Durango Custom Home Builders — LeGrand Construction
Rick LeGrand of LeGrand Construction has been building custom houses and renovating homes and commercial spaces in Durango since the early 70’s. In Rick’s 40-year career he has built or extensively remodeled close to 100 homes and commercial spaces.
In the past 15 years in the Durango/Pagosa Springs area, LeGrand Construction has nearly 50 custom homes to his credit. These homes are meticulously built to suit based upon their architectural design. The homes he’s built range in price from moderately priced homes to those that sell for several million.
LeGrand Construction had three custom homes featured in the Parade of Homes in 2007, garnering a “Most Creative Space Award” for an innovative children’s bunk room, utilizing an otherwise unplanned for attic space. It’s an adorable room that looks like a dream for the seven dwarves! Creative problem-solving on this space is one example of Rick’s intention, to listen closely to his clients wishes, and to enhance design and functionality whenever opportunity presents itself.
Rick was a certified adobe builder before most people were carrying the banner for green building. Several grand adobe homes are among his portfolio of hundreds of custom homes. He consistently guides his clients to make low carbon footprint, sustainable living choices. All of the homes he’s built or remodeled over the past 20 years have incorporated green building consciousness, utilizing the latest in recycled and energy efficient technology as products and techniques develop credibility.
Rick enjoys working with architects and designers rather than being the exclusive designer himself. Building is a collaborative art and process — from working with a realtor for lot selection and purchase to home placement through the selection of every detailed aspect of the construction project.
LeGrand Construction has had rewarding, effective experiences working with a reliable team of subcontractors, engineers and architects over the years. He serves the ultimate goal of providing the client the best team for the fulfillment of their project.
He uses Master Builder for his accounting to keep accurate up-to-date records. Construction book-keeping is complex so it’s important that records are timely, detailed and easily accessible.
LeGrand Construction is a member of Home Builder’s Association.
